Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 Review

The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 is an excellent Full HD 1080p webcam for use with Video Conferencing such as Skype as well as video recording for YouTube.

We tested bandwidth and discovered the following:

  • At 1920×1080 at 30FPS peaked at approximately  8Mb/s
  • At 1280×720 at 30FPS it peaked at approximately 3.5Mb/s
  • At 640×480 at 30FPS it peaked at approximately 1.4Mb/s

From previous webcam tests, we discovered that the C920 uses nearly half the processing speed compared to the other Logitech webcams.

We discovered that the C920 was of superior build quality and has the best picture quality due to the built in processing, H.264 compression and the Carl Zeiss lens. The C920 has a convenient tripod mount which could come in handy.  It even has a tab that keeps the C920 in place without falling off your monitor. As a bonus, the C920 has a nice 6ft cable which some of the other models we have tested do not have.

The C920 has one level of zoom at 1080p and four at 720p. The auto-focus feature is also very nice on the C920 and has little flickering and light change. In summation, the hardware of the c920 and its superior optics make it our recommended choice for Skype, YouTube and other services requiring a webcam. We confirmed that the C920 works with PC, Mac and Linux.
