I wanted to do a quick post on some basic social media tips that you should take advantage of if you have not already done so.
1. Forget Self-Promotion
Most people cannot stand that annoying salesman that follows them around while they are trying to make an important purchase decision. The same goes for social media interest, as most people do not like to be sent spam or constantly told about your product/services without first having gained your trust. The solution: Participate in your social media community as it furnishes new friendships, builds trust and ultimately gains you new clients. Like and Follow your clients and business colleagues pages and posts. Share their content and they are likely to do the same for you. Listen and understand what your potential clients want, and over deliver. They will reciprocate with follows, likes, pins, referrals and new business.
2. Engage your Audience
Post frequent updates of your products and service offerings to help remind your followers of what you offer. Ask for feedback on your services and engage your audience in polls by having giveaways. Answer your followers questions as quickly as possible. This shows that you have excellent customer service. Also, offer coupons, discounts and special offers to those who follow you. Keep them happy. Incentivize your followers so you don’t loose them.
3. Remind them how great you are
People tend to trust individuals more than they do businesses. Remind your followers of your great service by providing customer testimonials on your Facebook page. Take it a step further and add pictures or video testimonials. Add some legitimacy by sharing where your testimonials have been posted, such as: Google Places, Yelp, Thumbtack, Angies List, etc…
5. Link your social media posts
Use IFTTT for setting up streamlined posting across all social media networks. Have Google+, Twitter and Facebook automatically post the same post on all of your networks.
